2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings Recalled

2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings Recalled

Now that spring is in the air, outdoor play is a go! Sometimes, playing outside is just the ticket for helping our infants and toddlers to burn off some of their endless energy, socialize with friends, and get some fresh air. However, even with the best intentions, the risk of injury is always present. This is why, though we don’t like to be the barer of bad news, it is our duty to let you know about possible risks. Sometimes, this comes in the form of a product recall. This time, a set of 2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings is in the hot seat.

As guardians, it is up to us to stay abreast of products that could pose a threat to our child’s safety. Read on to learn more about this recall.

More About the Recalled Products

The recalled item is an outdoor swing by Delta Enterprise Corp. The 2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings are emblazoned with many children’s favorite characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Paw Patrol. These figures appear on the back of the seat, along the top. The plastic bucket seat makes the product suitable for kids aged nine months through four years old (and up to 50 pounds).

Play By the Rules: Playground Safety

Since we are discussing swings, it’s a good time to review necessary playground precautions. While these recalled 2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings won’t be found at a typical playground, some of the same safety principles still apply. For instance, weather can affect safe play. If it rains, playground equipment can be slippery. If it is too hot, the equipment can burn the skin. Children should be using a age-appropriate play area. There should always be an active supervisor on site whenever kids are playing. For more about playground safety, read our dedicated blog on the topic.

Why Are The 2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings Being Recalled?

Unfortunately, this fun product can lead to injury. As it turns out, the restraint straps on the three-point harness can break. This poses a falling hazard for our little ones who are on board. In fact, Delta has already gotten seven reports of this happening. Luckily, no injuries have been indicated. Still, about 43,380 2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings are being recalled out of precaution.
